INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Peyton Manning has been named AFC Offensive Player-of-the-Month for September, the NFL announced on Thursday.

Manning has helped lead the Colts to a 3-0 record.  The team had back-to-back prime-time road wins against defending division champions Miami and Arizona.

For the month, Manning completed 66-of-96 passes or 68.8 percent for 983 yards and 7 TDs.  He had two interceptions for a 117.7 passer rating.

Manning passed for over 300 yards in each outing, his second career streak of three consecutive 300+-yard games.

Through three games, Manning ranks 2nd in NFL passing yards, tied for 2nd in passing TDs, 2nd in passer rating, 1st in yards per attempt and 4th in completion percentage.

This is the fourth time Manning has received the Player-of-the-Month honor.  His last win was in October 2006.
