Manning to become highest paid player

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Colts owner Jim Irsay says he wants to re-sign Peyton Manning to a contract extension at the end of the season.

On Thursday night, while talking to 24 Hour News 8's Anthony Calhoun, Irsay mentions how he wants Manning to make NFL history. "I think when you say is it important to me, it is, because it's deserving."

"Whatever the numbers come out to be, it's going to be that kind of contract. The highest the league has ever seen, and it's deserving. We all know what he means to Indianapolis and the franchise."
