TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Indiana State men’s basketball player Jake Odum has been named All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team. The ISU junior is the first Sycamore to earn All-MVC first team since Matt Renn in 2001.
This is the ninth time a Sycamores as earned first team honors. Over the years six players have combined for those nine selections. Odum joins Larry Bird, Carl Nicks, John Sherman Williams, Nate Green and Matt Renn as All-MVC first team selections.
The former Terre Haute South Brave star is the first Terre Haute area player to be named All-MVC first team in the ISU men’s basketball program.
This season Odum is averaging 14.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.7 assist. The Sycamores junior leads the team in scoring, assist and steals. The ISU junior also ranks in the top 10 in the MVC in scoring, assist and steals.
