Anna Munn named MVC Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS (WTHI) - Junior Anna Munn led the Indiana State women’s basketball team with a career-high 25 points on Sunday at UT Martin and has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office.

Munn and the Sycamores improved to a MVC-best 7-2 on the season with their overtime victory at UT Martin on Sunday, topping the Skyhawks by a score of 73-71. Munn scored a team-leading 25 points in the game, including seven of the team’s 13 total points in overtime. The ISU junior shot 8-for-21 from the field and hit three three-pointers, a category that Munn ranks 14th in the NCAA this season (3.1 three-pointers per game).

The Indianapolis native and Decatur Central High School product ranks second in the Missouri Valley with a 17.3 points per game average and has scored over 20 points in each of her last two games.

Munn and Indiana State will look for their sixth consecutive win and to improve to 6-0 inside Hulman Center on Tuesday, hosting Chicago State at 7:05 p.m.
