Waltman to do IU men's basketball on radio

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.(WTHI) - Sports 10 has learned that former Indiana State mens basketball coach Royce Waltman has landed a new job in basketball. A friend close to Waltman informed Sports 10 Sunday night that Royce will be Don Fischer's color commentator on the Indiana Hoosiers mens basketball radio broadcast this upcoming season. Waltman will be replacing Todd Leary, who is dealing with legal issues.

Waltman was an assistant under Bob Knight for five years at IU back in the 80's and a member of the 87 hoosiers national title team. Waltman spent 10 years at ISU, he guided the Sycamores to back to back NCAA tournament appearances in 2000 and 2001.
