COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) — Racer Tony Stewart is heading back to his central Indiana hometown for a Thanksgiving break just days after winning his third NASCAR championship.

Stewart headed to the East Coast for TV appearances Monday and Tuesday after his title-clinching race victory in Florida on Sunday.

The Republic reports ( http://bit.ly/sJeL8Y ) that Stewart says his Thanksgiving trip to Columbus will be about all the relaxation he'll get. Stewart says he's looking forward to the break but has many things on his to-do list and isn't concerned about having time off right now.

City leaders are looking into organizing a parade or other public celebration of Stewart's NASCAR title.
