My prayers are with you at this time of deep sorrow for your family. My youngest son is a cadet at VMI and wanted to let you know that Dale's dyke line, which my son is a member of, held a moment of silence in his honor. My daughter is stationed at Landstahl Army hospital in Germany, so I am aware of your sacrifice. We are the home of the free because of the brave. You will continue to be in my prayers.

I just met Dale this summer when I was visiting my cousins Michelle and Nick by Fort Lewis, and really can't put into typing what a genuine person Dale was. He was such good company, always ready for a laugh, a political

discussion, or a random sing-a-long to whatever commercial jingle was on the TV. I'm heartbroken to know that he is gone, but I am so glad that I got to know him even for just a little while. To Dale's family: You all raised a true gentleman, the ideal friend. I'm praying with you.
