TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - It was an orange Friday in the Wabash Valley.

The Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Wabash Valley were out encouraging folks to help the hungry in Vigo County.

They were also decked out in orange ribbons to promote their cause.

Organizers say it takes just $2.05 to purchase a meal for someone who is hungry. This year the economy left more folks without food than in years past.

"So many people were just so close to being a paycheck away from whether or not they would be able to feed their families," said Robin Heng. "We just felt it was time for us to step in and help."

For more information, you can contact the Visiting Nurse Association or Hospice of the Wabash Valley at 812-232-7611.
