AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - A happy home doesn't have to be in Happy, Texas.
A farmer and rancher from the Texas Panhandle town of Happy won a $185,000 home in Amarillo as part of a charity benefit.
Dudley McNeill was the big winner Sunday night of the new three-bedroom, two bath structure. McNeill told the Amarillo Globe-News that he didn't expect to win and "It's unbelievable. It's crazy."
He's not sure about moving to Amarillo, saying there's not much room for farming.
Tickets for the raffle cost $50 each. The benefit was for the Myelin Project, which supports research of diseases related to nerve cells.
Happy is a town of about 630, located about 35 miles south of Amarillo.
