Proposal for new hotel in Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - A local developer proposed a new hotel near downtown Vincennes.

Developer Mike Sievers is proposing the construction of a new $6 million hotel along Willow Street, just south of the downtown area.

The 64-room Marriott Townhouse Inn would be built on a four acre vacant lot. The Willow Street area is considered an under utilized business corridor in the community.

"I think there is a need for more rooms here," said Sievers. "I think this is a great location."

The project still needs approval from the Board of Zoning Appeals and the City Council. Construction could begin next summer.
