TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - 3:57 p.m. News 10 has just learned the package at Union Hospital is not a bomb.
Union Hospital in Terre Haute was under lockdown.
This after officials said someone brought a strange package to the hospital pharmacy claiming it was a bomb.
Police are searching for that man.
They say he's a white male, around six feet tall weighing 185 pounds with dirty blond hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with words "marines" on the front.
Part of the hospital has been evacuated.
Patients have been moved to more secure areas of the building.
Emergency patients are being diverted to Regional Hospital.
Union Hospital tells News 10 that all of the evacuated patients are receiving proper medical attention at this time.
"Everybody responded immediately," said Union Hospital Spokeswoman Kristi Roshel. "The response was good. We practice these things all the time, we hope these emergency situations don't happen but we're prepared for this. And all the patients and staff were safe."
The Terre Haute Police Bomb Squad responded.
It was a tense afternoon for worried family members and friends, as they waited outside in the cold, anxious to be able to return to their sick and injured loved ones inside.
"it was pretty scary," said Linda Shott. "It was scary enough to know what was going on without having now this on top of it all. So it's pretty devastating to us."
