WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Marion Manufacturing in West Terre Haute unveiled big news Wednesday morning.
In a press conference, the company announced they are the recipients of a three-year government contract, worth more than $2.5 million.
Marion Manufacturing provides precision machining services to the heavy equipment, aerospace and military industries. With this contract, they will be making military components for Tacom in Rock Island, Ill.
Marion Manufacturing first bid for this project back in June and competed against 54 other companies throughout the country. This contract will also create nine or ten jobs at the minimum.
"Production will start in January, so we look to hopefully call back a few more of our employees that have been laid off due to the slow down," President of Marion Manufacturing Tamara Marion said.
