WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Elvis, Spiderman and Tigger were just some of the celebrities spotted in the Wabash Valley Saturday.

It's a Halloween tradition in West Terre Haute. About 100 kids participated in Halloween Happenings at the West Vigo Community Center.

It started with a parade and then carnival games, prizes, candy and a costume contest. News 10's own Pamela Gardner served as one of the judges.

As cute as some of the costumes were, organizers said it comes at a perfect time as a fundraiser.

"As the United Way funds have somewhat slowed down, we have to somewhat pick up the pace as the end of the year hits," said West Vigo Community Center volunteer Danelle Readinger. "We have to heat the building, so this kind of keeps us going."

The community center raised some money through food sales. It's an event that has been going on for more than 20 years.
