VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - Business leaders in southern Indiana said they are seeing some signs of recovery in the local economy.

In October, officials in Vincennes joined with Schott Glass to celebrate an expansion that has added more than 100 jobs at the plant.

Meanwhile, other companies are reporting that they are moving production back to pre-recession levels. One of them is Toyota supplier FIA in Vincennes.

"Many of our local industries are showing point of strength. FIA's employment level is at or near an all time high," Knox County Development Corporation Gary Gentry said. "They are tooling up and gearing up for two new Toyota Models."

The local economy may be showing some signs of recovery, but the Work One office remains a very busy place.

Many of those looking for work said they have been off the job as long as one year.
