VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - Police found the body of Charles David Jackson from Cayuga in
his Vermillion County Jail cell.
Jackson reportedly hung himself using his own prison
clothes.
Staff workers found the body during a routine check of the cells.
While inmates are under careful watch, officials were surprised by the incident in the jail.
" [It's] very shocking because this inmate gave no indication whatsoever that there was any kind of any kind of problem that he was having," Vermillion County Sheriff, Bob Spence said.
Police arrested Jackson in December on theft charges.
