Woman accused of stealing $17,000

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - An Illinois woman was charged Tuesday with stealing more than $17,000 from her Terre Haute employer.

Melissa Stillwell, of Marshall, Ill. was charged with forgery and theft, which are both felonies.

Stillwell had written unauthorized checks from the account of Lee Company. The checks were written in March and April to cover personal expenses, like credit card bills and rent.

She was arrested at Lee Company on Monday.
