VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - Mason's layed brick on the restrooms at the new Vincennes Riverfront Pavilion, hustling to finish the work before the grand opening of the facility.

"It was questionable with the weather we've had over the last four months how quickly we'd be able to get this done," said Vincennes Mayor Al Baldwin.

But enough work was complete that inside crews could set up the stage for an evening of entertainment.

A show by country music artist Robert Earl Keen was the highlight for the opening, and the city has big plans for the facility.

The facility will be used for a lot more than the occasional concert. It will also be the home of the farmers market.

"It's going to be a fun time, lots of people," said Marc McNeece of the redevelopment commission. "There's going to be more booths this time than we've ever had at our farmer's market."

Officials believe the facility is an investment that's going to pay off for downtown Vincennes.

The Farmer's Market in Vincennes will be held every Wednesday and Saturday at the Riverfront Pavilion through the rest of the summer.
