TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Additional funeral arrangements have been made for a Wabash Valley soldier.
This year's Veterans Day parade in Terre Haute will hold even more meaning. The parade will also serve as a funeral procession for Sgt. Dale Griffin's body.
All local veterans’ organizations will participate in the procession, which will start at 4th and Wabash at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Sgt. Griffin's flag draped coffin will follow the Honor Guard of the Terre Haute Police Department.
The funeral procession will then proceed east on Wabash Ave. and then north on 12th St., one block to the VFW Post 972 Veteran's Square at 12th and Eagle Streets.
The VFW will hold a brief ceremony at approximately 11:00 a.m. Sgt. Griffin's body will then be taken to Terre Haute South Vigo High School for his funeral ceremony.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the school's gymnasium.
