TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Union Hospital said all signs point to no contract agreement. Anthem Insurance said negotiations will continue through July 31.

In the middle are patients who may have to decide either to find a new doctor or pay out of network costs.

Amy Lutes and her husband have carried Anthem Insurance for years and now they have a daughter. They have established relationships with Union Hospital doctors.

Lutes said they'll pay high out of network costs if no agreement is reached, meaning less time spent with her baby girl.

"When I had my daughter, I went to part time so that I could spend more time with her," said Lutes. "So our income isn't as high as it used to be. So if that becomes an issue then I may not have an option."

Both Union and Anthem said they have patients' best interests in mind. But Lutes is not so sure.

"Patient care should be number one, but I don't know if that's what their interest is because they can't seem to come to an agreement," said Lutes.

Union Hospital treats patients at Clinton and Terre Haute locations.
