TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - An East Side Elementary teacher aid was surprised to find out she had been chosen for the Make a Difference award.

Dee Sheese walks into classrooms everyday, making a difference in these kids lives.

For the last 18 years, she has worked passionately with kids. Whether it's helping them read in between the lines, or supporting them when they get the right answer, it all adds up.

"When someone doesn't know anything or something and you show them, and you see their face light up like a light bulb when you turn the light on, that's amazing," Sheese said.

It's the amazing work she's given over the years that had fifth grade teacher Ellen Packard nominating her for this award.

"You can count on her for everything, she helps the teachers..and she's always for the child, everything is about the child," fifth grade teacher Ellen Packard said.
