TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The Board of Health signs off on the final draft of the body art and ear piercing ordinance in Vigo County. They held a meeting Wednesday to read over the revised version of the ordinance.
It was signed and approved by the board. This revised version may also change the age at which someone could begin tattooing in Vigo County. If this ordinance is passed, you would have to be 18 before you could tattoo someone.
"I think it's been a long journey," said Health Educator Megan Bland. "We've had a lot of really good input both from the tattoo artists as well as the Board of Health and other members that were involved in this. I think overall it's went really well."
The ordinance will now go to the County Commissioners for their approval. This Tuesday may be their first chance to approve it.
