TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - One Planet Solar and Wind, in Terre Haute, flipped the switch on Tuesday for its largest installation in the county. It is also the fourth largest solar array in Indiana for the company.
The sixty solar panels sits on a house on South Doberman St. in Vigo County.
When the panels work at full capacity, it pushes power onto their local grid, crediting their account.
"This just shows Hoosiers what they can do with renewable outside of their coal powered that they are used to, " Phillip Roberts of One Planet Solar said.
The solar panels will keep more than 27,000 tons of coal from being burned each year, ultimately keeping the air cleaner.
