TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The alleged robbery happened during what the defense said was a drug deal at a home on the 3600 block of Wabash Ave.
Cherry allegedly pointed a handgun at the homeowner's then 1-year-old daughter and fled the home with hundreds of dollars in cash.
Once outside the home, witnesses for the prosecution said Cherry fired several shots at the home and a vehicle parked outside. Cherry said this is not what happened, and he wants a fair trial to prove that.
"I think what happened is somebody tried to rob me, and everything didn't go their way," said Cherry.
Cherry faces charges for armed robbery and six counts of criminal recklessness, all felonies.
