Local church remembers flood

Dealing with that fateful Sunday last year

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Several feet of water destroyed nearly everything inside the North Terre Haute Christian Church on June 7, 2008.

It was 15 years prior to June's flood that the church dealt with similar damages.

Forty-one inches of water washed through the church last June. Flood waters damaging nearly everything insid It may have been a year ago, but the memories of June 7th still linger in the minds of members Sunday morning.

"One of the first thoughts that comes to my mind was oh no not again," church member Bob Sampson said.

"And maybe it will get better. We hope so, we pray that things improve on this situation," member David Adams said.

The church said they now have flood insurance.
