TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The tragic death of 16-month-old Travis Bohannon happened while the little boy was visiting his father. Since then, his father has been arrested and charged with reckless homicide for the boy's death.
The toddler's parents were separated and now, Travis' mother, Jamie Bohannon is left to think of happy memories of her son.
"He'd make you laugh. His bubbly personality would go from the time he woke up until the time he went to sleep," Bohannon said.
The toddler was shot when he was with his father, Ronald Bohannon, in Midland, Ind.
"I didn't think when I dropped him off Thursday night that I wouldn't be able to pick him back up," Jamie Bohannon said.
The shooting of the boy along a quiet street set off an investigation by police, a sense of outrage in the community and overwhelming grief for his family.
"There's so many different feelings, emotions and things that have been thrown at me. I feel like everything is coming at me 100 miles per hour," Bohannon said.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. A trust fund in Travis' name has been established at First Financial Bank.
