Ewing announces run for sheriff

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The race for Vigo County Sheriff in 2010 has already begun.
Current Vigo County Deputy Chief Greg Ewing announced Thursday afternoon he plans to run for sheriff next year on the democrat ticket.
Ewing is the first person to make the announcement. He has been with the sheriff's department for 18 years.
"I've worked various areas of the department and so that with my experience and my education makes me the clear choice," Ewing said.
The primary election in Indiana will take place May 4.
News 10 has also heard rumors of several other people planning to run for sheriff, but no official announcements have been made.
