TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - One church tries to help hurricane victims at the cost of violating a federal law.

Pastors for Peace is a national organization that promotes a reversal of the embargo against Cuba.

Sunday, the group stopped by Terre Haute at the First Unitarian Universalist Church.

They were collecting items to send to Cuba to help victims of three recent hurricanes.

The group plans on taking those items to the country, even though it's against the federal law.
