PARIS, Ill. (WTHI) - A year after laying off more than 130 workers, Simonton Windows in Paris, Ill. is busier than ever.
New jobs orders have opened up window of opportunity for employees like Corey Jones.
"When I first came back from layoff, it was weird. There weren't many cars in the parking lot when you got here in the morning, now it's full now," employee Corey Jones said.
Some employees, like Elaine Armstrong, see getting their job back as a clear sign the economy is coming back together.
"The economy got better. I think Obama took care of that," Armstrong said.
According to the plant manger, the news only gets better. They are hiring up to 15 more seasonal workers.
"It's so nice bringing all of them back, plus, an additional 100 people back for seasonal work. We are real excited here about that," plant manager Tony Atzbach said.
