Community shocked by Decker plea

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The news of Vigo County Commissioner David Decker admitting to distributing methamphetamine has shocked most people.
"Would you ever expect anything like that? No, not in this community," Jeffery Pawlik said.
"He's been around for a really long time. I have always heard about him or read about him. It was shocking to see that this morning on the news," Brent Barnhart said.
"I think he should go to prison like anybody else should. He's not special," Richard Summers said.
One condition of Decker's plea agreement is that he resign as a Vigo County Commissioner. He has not yet turned in his resignation. Once that does happen, it is expected that the Vigo County Democratic Party will hold a caucus to pick Decker's replacement.
