CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - A Wabash Valley woman charged with murdering her newborn baby is out on bond Thursday.
Special Prosecutor Ed Parkinson tells News 10 Cayla Wheeler bonded out of the Clark County Jail on Nov. 26, after being locked-up on an arson charge.
Her bond was set at 300-thousand-dollars with ten percent. That means it took 30-thousand-dollars to bail her out of jail.
The arson charge stems from a suspicious fire in Westfield, Illinois in July.
During an investigation, police learned Wheeler and her husband Eric were expecting a baby, but the baby was no where to be found, and Wheeler was no longer pregnant.
Police later found the baby's body in a wooded area near the
home.
A mental evaluation is pending. A pretrial has been set for
Jan. 21.
