TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Over 300 kids in the Wabash Valley may not have a Christmas this year. But you can help give them a gift they will remember forever.

WTHI-TV 10, First Financial Bank, HI-99 and the Exchange Club of Terre Haute will be collecting your donations all day Friday for the 2008 Bikes for Tykes campaign.

The donations go to purchasing bicycle kits, which are then assembled by Rose-Hulman students.

Forty-five dollars will cover the cost of a bicycle and safety helmet for each child in need. However, donations of any amount are greatly appreciated by all those involved.

"Many of our parents will even break down in tears because they know that they can't get their child any gift for Christmas and this may be the only gift they get this year. So it's a very worthwhile project," principal at Sarah Scott Middle School Mark Miller said.

If you'd like to make a donation, just stop by our studios at 918 Ohio Street Friday and we'll be out front all day.
