123 pot plants found along Wabash River

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - A large marijuana plot was discovered in southwestern Vigo County.

Shortly before noon Wednesday, Indiana State Police discovered 123 plants ranging from four to six tall feet along the Wabash River. Street value for the drugs is estimated between $75,000 and $100,000.

Authorities want remind people that if you come in contact with a marijuana plant, please leave it alone. They can be extremely dangerous.

"What you have to remember is some of the marijuana plots are booby trapped, if you will. Some of them are booby trapped with weapons, depending on the size of the plot. Some of them are booby trapped with sharp objects, chemicals, so on and so forth," Sgt. Joe Watts of the Indiana State Police said.

The investigation is ongoing No arrests have been made.
