TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - The city of Terre Haute is looking for solutions to traffic and railroad issues.
Mayor Duke Bennett and Congressman Brad Ellsworth toured the city Wednesday talking about possible roadway projects.
These projects that would help traffic flow, including railroad re-location.
Bennett and Ellsworth are talking with city planners, hoping to get projects underway for the best price possible. The city hopes federal funding will make the roadways more efficient and help the local businesses.
"We need trains but getting them moved out of the center of town and making it more business friendly that's the ultimate goal," Ellsworth said.
Bennett said the city is considering several options for the crossing at 19th and Margaret, either building an overpass or relocating the rail yard.
