TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - You might expect to travel to the nearest concert hall to see your favorite platinum selling artists. Instead of dolling out big dollars for a front row seat, the struggling economy may be bringing some artists right to your front pew.
For instance, Mark Schultz and Point of Grace have sold millions
of records and won awards.
They've traveled the globe as Christian artists but now
they're returning to a familiar venue.
"All of us grew up in church and you know it's sort of our
stability and there are certain things that are comforts that
you're gonna find in every single church," Shelley Breen said.
They recently held a concert at Maryland Community Church in
Terre Haute. More and more groups are in unison with the idea.
"It's already built in," Eric Kilby, the tour manager said.
"It's just the perfect fit, especially for Christian tours. I mean
it's just the perfect fit for it."
Basically, using church volunteers is a lot cheaper than
hiring venue workers.
