TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Delicious smells fillied the city as part of the Altrusa Chili
Cook-off in downtown Terre Haute.
For a few hours Saturday, parts of Terre Haute transformed
into a chef's kitchen. Twenty-six cooks showed off their best chili
recipes. The cooks went before judges who announced the
winners.
Money raised from today's cook-off will go towards educational scholarships and programs at the public library. But it's not just for children.
"We also try to focus on GED testing and some things for all age groups," said Event Chair Jody Reinoehl. "I just think that's the key to success in anyone's life is being an avid reader."
Reinoehl hopes to raise $14,000, which would match last year's total.
