ODON, Ind. (WTHI) - Another new law went into effect on July 1, but it's up to the cities to decide whether they want to pass it or not.
One small town in Daviess County looks to say "yes" to a new
vehicle on the road.
In Odon, it's not unusual to see a car or a horse and bugging
riding through town, but soon golf carts may be added to the
road.
Community members said the golf carts are good for the environment and very convenient for the small town.
Town council members said the ordinance looks to pass, but they'll vote on the issue in the upcoming weeks.
Now, golf carts must follow several requirements. It must have a turn signal, head lights, a slow-moving vehicle triangle or amber flashing light.
The golf cart must also be insured and must be operated by a licensed driver.
