Man dies in early morning accident

LINTON, Ind. (WTHI) - A southern Indiana man dies following an early morning accident.

It happened near Linton, Indiana, at the intersection of Northwest 5th Street and County Road 300 North.

Police said Eric Garrett, 29, of Sullivan, was thrown from a vehicle he was driving about 2:30 Monday morning. They said he was most likely not wearing a seat belt when the Jeep he was driving hit a concrete bridge.

Police believe alcohol was a factor the crash.

Garrett was pronounced dead at the scene.
