CLINTON, Ind. (WTHI) - Indiana has lost nearly 6, 000 jobs in the past few months.

The Wabash Valley is no exception when it comes to job loss.

Company layoffs and the holiday season are leaving many families, like the Millers, struggling.

"I felt like I let our family down as a whole but then it's not my fault, but why me?" Debra Miller said.

After more than four years, Miller was laid off from her job at Great Dane Trailers. It's the third time Miller's been laid off, but this time with the shaky economy she doesn't know when she'll be able to go back to work.

"It's scary, it's hard, it really puts you to the test, you don't know from one day to the next," Miller said. Bemis, TRW and Great Dane are just a few companies laying off workers.

In total, they've laid off more than 320 workers the past few months.

With another Great Dane layoff expected later this month, Miller's worried that her husband may lose his job as well.

Bill's worked at the company for 8 years now.

"It's the not knowing when, that's scary and makes you wonder," Miller said.

For Miller, she's not worried about the holiday but what's ahead for her family.

" You got to be practical because you've got to live after Christmas too," Miller said.

In the meantime, she's looking for jobs but still hoping to return to work alongside her husband very soon.
