VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - White Construction in Vermillion County, Ind. broke ground on a big expansion project Wednesday.

The company constructs wind and solar farms, bio-mass and geo-thermal power plants, among other industrial and highway construction projects.

Now, they are investing more than $10 million to build a new green headquarters. The expansion could mean 70 new jobs over the next few years.

"The fact that we are growing as a company, expanding, hiring several more people. We are just excited that we have some good news to bring to this community and surrounding areas," owner and executive vice president Denise White said.

White Construction received tax credits and training grants from the state to make this new project happen. They will also get a tax abatement from Vermillion County. They said they hope to start hiring new employees later this year.
