CLAY COUNTY, Ind (WTHI) - Masked men terrorize two Wabash Valley homes.
Around 3:30 Wednesday morning three men invaded a northwest Clay County home.
It was what they did that may have you thinking twice about opening your door to a stranger.
Inside the home was a 17-year-old couple and their ten-month-old
son. They woke up to a knock on the door. Upon answering the door a
man asked to use jumper cables for his stranded car.
The man who answered the door said he didn't have any jumper
cables. Then the suspect asked to used his cell phone.
Police said at that time two other man entered the home attacking the guy who answered the door. The 17-year old girl was held at gunpoint in the bedroom.
The three suspects then stole electronic items, and the girls purse.
Then just over the county line in eastern Vigo county police say a similar incident occurred within an hour. This time to a lady about 50 years old.
At this time police believe both incidents are related.
"If you don't know the person talked through a locked door. Do not allow them inside your residence Do not pass items from inside your residence to outside. So simply tell them to go away. Call police we will check them out," said Sgt. Joe Watts with the Indiana State Police.
The 17-year-old Clay County man was treated and released from St. Vincent Hospital. The girl and infant were not hurt. As for the Vigo County lady, her condition is unknown at this time.
Now police need your help. Suspect one is a white male in his early 20's, with dark hair, a goatee and was last seen wearing dark jeans, and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
Suspect two is a white male about 5-9 weighing 150 pounds. He could be in his late teens or early 20's. At the time of the Clay County invasion he was wearing a dark ski mask armed with a gray handgun.
Suspect three was also white man but covered in a dark ski mask carrying a handgun. A physical description for him is unknown at this time.
Police said these three men possibly fled in a dark colored 4 door vehicle. Possible a Oldsmobile Alero.
