CLAY COUNTY, Ind (WTHI) - A local emergency tower damaged.

In the past two months the tower out in Center Point, Indiana has been targeted. Police said someone has shot out the blinking light two times.

It costs Clay County taxpayers about 1,500 dollars to replace it. The repairs are not only costing taxpayers money, but it also poses a danger. Pilots count on the blinking light so they don't crash into it.

"This is our communication tower, if something happens to it. It doesn't just effect the sheriff's department, it effects the fire department, e-m-s the emergency services here in the county, if something were to happen to that tower," Mike Heaton the Clay County Sheriff said.

Sheriff Heaton said if you see or hear anything notify the Clay County Sheriff's Department at 812-446-2535.
