CASEY, Ill. (WTHI) - After being stuck with two mortgages for nearly two years, dentist Eric Langellier decided it was time to take action. Now, he is trying to raffle off his Casey, Ill. home.
Langellier started his family in this house, but as his family grew, he needed a larger home.
"We were kind of bursting at the seams. We had our fourth child and and we were just not fitting in this house any more," Langellier said.
Langellier bought a new home, but around the same time the economy took a tumble. Two years later, he has still been unable to sell his old house.
The raffle has been going on for about three weeks. Tickets are $100 and Langellier hopes to sell 1,200 tickets. If he does not reach that goal, then he plans on holding a 50/50 raffle.
"Somebody gets to move into this awesome home with their family and just enjoy living in Casey," Langellier said.
