TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - What do you know about your chance of getting cancer? That's exactly what people discussed at Tueday's Mini Medical School session in Terre Haute.
The presentation discussed what genetic testing is, who should consider it, and when it should be considered.
The Mini Medical School session also introduced the audience to the work of the Indiana Familial Cancer Center.
The center provides genetic counseling, risk assessment, and genetic testing to individuals with an elevated risk for developing cancer.
Cindy Hunter coordinates and provides these tests.
"We now can screen for cancer, screening for cancer is not fully utilized as well as it could be early detection is the key for a good prognosis and better outcomes," Hunter said.
