Amanda Jarrett

NEWS TEAM - Amanda is the weekend anchor and crime beat reporter.

Amanda joined the News 10 team as a general assignment reporter in Feb. 2008.

Before moving to the Wabash Valley, Amanda was the bureau reporter at the CBS affiliate, WCBI-TV in Tupelo, Miss.

A native Hoosier, Amanda is originally from Jeffersonville, Indiana. She graduated with a B.A. in Media Arts and a minor in Print Journalism from Butler University in 2006.

Amanda was bitten by the "writing bug" as a child and journalism soon became a passion. In college Amanda was the editor-In-chief of her university's newspaper, she also anchored her university's newscast, BTV News.

Amanda furthered her love of broadcasting during an internship for the ABC News owned and operated stations in Washington, D.C. She interviewed members of congress and senators from across the country. She also field produced the congressional interviews at the State of the Union Address in 2005, assisted in production at the Presidential Inauguration that same year and the Major League Baseball Congressional Hearings.

Amanda also interned near her hometown at WHAS-TV in Louisville, Ky. and WRTV in Indianapolis.

In her free time Amanda loves reading a good book, learning how to cook, traveling, running with her border collie, Bailey, visiting her friends and family all over the country and being an aunt.
