TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Nationwide unemployment remains at a record high 10.2 percent, and is expected to rise.
The unemployment benefits extension states benefits for folks currently collecting unemployment will be extended automatically.
Folks who have exhausted their unemployment and remain unemployed need to file for the extension beginning Nov. 23.
Hoosiers who previously exhausted their unemployment can file
for this extension as follows:
Beginning Nov. 23 - Reopen unemployment claim through Uplink,
Indiana's online benefits system
Beginning Nov. 24 - Return to Uplink to complete two weekly
vouchers, covering the time since the extension became law on
November 6, 2009
Beginning Nov. 25 - Deposits for eligible vouchers will be
posted to individual debit cards
Each subsequent week - file your weekly voucher online
similar to other unemployment programs
