VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - The $2 billion Duke Energy power plant under construction near Edwardsport may be the biggest example of green energy in the Wabash Valley.

The project will use a clean-coal technology to produce electricity with only a fraction of previous pollution.

The GPC plant in Washington and the Lincolnland Agri-energy plant in Palestine also produce Green Energy a smaller scale.

Vincennes University is already training the workers.

"We've been green and teaching green for a long time only we weren't calling it green technology. What they've been calling it here is computer integrated manufacturing," Art Haase Dean of Technology at Vincennes University said.

Students there are learning new technology to apply in industrial and commercial settings including the emerging green energy industry.
