Man arrested for beating woman, child

LINTON, Ind. (WTHI) - A Greene County, Ind. is man out on bond after allegedly battering a woman and her child who was trying to help her.

Linton Police said Audie Kristler got into an argument with a woman. Kristler allegedly became violent, striking the woman repeatedly.

The victim told police Kristler chased her and shoved her onto a glass coffee table. The woman's son saw the alleged attack and when he tried to help his mother, he was knocked into a trashcan.

Police said the child had blood on his neck when they arrived on the scene.

Kristler faces preliminary charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, battery resulting in bodily injury to a minor, intimidation to a police officer, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement. He is scheduled to be in court on Monday.
