Vincennes road project gets underway

VINCENNES, Ind. (WTHI) - Construction begins on a million dollar road project in a southern Indiana community. After four years of talking and planning, the dirt is moving on the Ford Road project in Vincennes.

The project sat on the books while the city waited for a developer to commit to construction along the roadway.

Now with at least one project planned there, the work on Ford Road is underway. The family looking to start a business there is excited about it.

"We're glad things are progressing and moving along," said Dane Cantwell. "People are excited. You can drive by and see track hoes. Everything's full throttle now."

Both the road and the Cantwell's new store are expected to be finished this spring.
