WASHINGTON, Ind. (WTHI) - A three year dry spell ends in a southern Indiana city, much to the delight of kids and parents.
Washington, Ind. Mayor Larry Haag was the first to come down down the slide at the Waterworld of Washington water park.
The community had been without a pool for three years, after structural problems forced officials to close down the old one.
The new $1.2 million facility is now officially open.
"Great day. Big day. We're excited to be here and it's the opening of the wow," said Haag.
"So excited, I drove by the other day and saw the water and said thank you Lord and I am so excited for the kids," said Pat Thompson, pool committee co-chair.
