WTHI-TV wins 5 Emmy Awards

TERRE HAUTE, Ind (WTHI) - The 48th Annual Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Awards were announced Saturday night and WTHI-TV won 5 awards, including the Emmy’s highest honor - Station Excellence.

“It’s an honor for News 10 to be recognized for “Leading the Way” in the Wabash Valley. These awards reflect the daily dedication, determination and drive of our entire team, and also winning the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honor for Station Excellence puts a stamp on what WTHI TV is all about” said Todd Weber, WTHI-TV vice president and general manager.

The Emmy awards include:

  • Special Achievement: Station Excellence: Leading the Way, WTHI-TV
  • Sports – News: A Wounded Warrior, Rick Semmler & John Timm
  • Editor – News: Haunted Moggers, John Timm
  • Editor – Sports: Sports Editing Compilation, John Timm
  • Photographer – Sports: Sports Photographer Compilation, John Timm

“I’m so proud of the entire News 10 team,” said Susan Dinkel, WTHI-TV news director. “We all have an investment in these awards and to receive this from our television peers is humbling.”

The 48th Annual Emmy Awards were announced Saturday, July 28th at Belterra Casino, Resort and Spa in Switzerland County, Indiana.
